Through opportunities to know the poor first-hand and teaching a humble, learning attitude to contributors, we find that as we seek to change in the lives of others we are in fact changed ourselves.

We currently offer the following opportunities:

1. Work-Trip to AFE: Spend a week getting to know the children of the Tegucigalpa City Dump. Complete a construction project at their school (AFE), lead a vacation Bible school program, or come as a medical brigade; the opportunities are endless! Talk to your church about leading a team and contact us to schedule your trip. Prices and further information available upon request.

2. Vision Trip to AFE: If you are an individual or a family who would like to visit AFE, but not with a volunteer group, contact us about possibilities.

3. Short-term Volunteer: If you are eighteen years or older and would like to spend one month to a year serving at AFE, contact us to receive an application and further information. Volunteer positions are currently closed until June 2012, but you may apply now for a position beginning after this date. Volunteers must be fluent in Spanish and supportive of AFE’s mission.

4. Long-term Volunteer: If you are twenty-five years or older and would like to commit to living and serving in Honduras for two to five years, contact us to find out more information. Long-term volunteers will be selected based on the relevant experience they bring to the project, ability to become fluent in Spanish and serve effectively in another culture, and their understanding and ability to work as a team to achieve AFE’s vision. All positions are closed until June 2012. Contact us to begin the process of serving long-term at AFE in the future.

5. Support T4T from home: Not everyone is called to go, some are called to send. Without your support, the transformation of the Tegucigalpa Garbage Dump would not be possible. You can support the project by promoting the project in your community, organizing fundraisers or work-trips with your home church, or leading a prayer-group for children of the garbage dump. Contact us for creative ideas about how you can help.
