1. We recognize our responsibility as a blessed people to bless those in need. The question Jesus posed two thousand years ago: “Who is my neighbor?” calls us to serve as agents of change amidst suffering.
  2. In a world in which more than ½ of the population falls below the poverty line, we focus our efforts on the most vulnerable and most exploited. Often these are children.
  3. We support those places where God is already at work and go there to join him. Rather than duplicating efforts, we partner with local leaders and ask: how can we help?
  4. We help local leaders to strategize in terms of holistic ministry, addressing both the spiritual and physical needs of a person. We believe that the message of Jesus Christ is holistic and when presented in the right way, transformation will occur.
  5. We believe that if structures of oppression are allowed to continue, so will cycles of poverty and abuse. Thus we work to dismantle the means of exploitation so that future generations may grow up in safe, healthy environments.
  6. Using resources efficiently is imperative to this work and calling. Thus we send 100% of designated funds directly to their intended recipient.
  7. We give Americans the opportunity to know the poor personally to learn from one another and experience mutual transformation. We create opportunities for long-term relationships between rich and poor countries, both through work-trips, long term volunteer experiences, and church partnerships.
