Bring Hope to the Poorest of the Poor, one Garbage Dump Community at a Time. A. One Community at a Time

  • We do not focus on a category of children at risk all over the globe. We look at specific communities which foster children at risk (many times there are many different categories of children at risk all in the same community).
  • We look at all of the factors in that community which create and continue the exploitation of children. Thus, the children of children at risk are born into whole families and healthy communities. Future generations do not experience exploitation.

B. Meeting the needs of the Whole Person

  • We recognize that a person is made up of body, mind, relationships, and eternal spirit. Exploitation affects all of the aspects of the person. For a person to be healed-body, mind and soul-the whole person must be attended to.
  • We believe the best way to heal and meet the needs of the whole person is to partner with the local church. The message of Jesus Christ is still powerful to bring transformation to any circumstance of the world.

C. Partnering with the Local Church

  • For this reason, we work with and empower local leaders, churches, and organizations to holistically meet the needs of a person and the entire community.
  • We look for positives forces already in existence and ask, “How can we help?” The development of local leaders and organizations brings continuity to the change.

D. Allowing Us to be Changed in the Process

  • It is easy to give in a way that distances us from the plight of poverty. When those suffering become our brothers, sisters, or our very child, we don’t just give, we do something about it!
  • For this reason, we foster long-term relationships with American churches and families and transformation-projects in the developing world.
  • We allow Americans to visit the projects, to know the poor first hand, and to be changed in the process.
